ODSY STFF

I’ve been developing a lot of fun stuff over at Odyssey lately.
Read more to check out the other widgets.

When the ODSY TV (above) isn’t playing any videos, it imports a list of major updates from the main website and scrolls through them. Once the user starts watching a video, a series of buttons appear at the bottom. The “MAIN MENU” and next / previous arrows allows users to browse through the video archive (which is automatically updated). Clicking the EMBED or LINK buttons automatically copies the EMBED code or hyperlink directly onto the system’s clipboard, eliminating the need to have to select text in a box and hit copy. The buttons do it. Users are also given the option of either embedding the latest video or embedding whatever video is currently playing in the TV.

The EMBED code works similar to YouTube videos. It basically lets people embed the TV into their own profiles, blogs and/or websites. Also, all of the code needed to place the items in this post were generated using their respective EMBED buttons.

As for the flip books below, all design / photography / development work were done by me. Each one uses the same .SWF file and parameters are passed to it so they know which set of photos and what color scheme to use.

I keep forgetting to bring my camera to work so all of the photos were shot using a Canon digital point and shoot that’s small enough to fit in your pocket. For lighting, continuous flood lamps were used. Not necessarily the most high-tech toys in photography but they got the job done.

Oh yeah and each flip book has a little ticker at the bottom that scrolls through major updates. Clicking on the text will jump you to that update.

Kids are creaming their pants over this product.

The first photo involved a magic trick.

Colors.

I don’t know why but the guy in the packaging (last photo) got me giggling for a while.
