I’ll be in Vegas for the rest of the week, cranking out updates out of the Odyssey booth. There are a lot of kooky spandex going on in this annual bike convention known as Interbike. Fortunately, they all stay away from the BMX section and I only encounter it when I leach internet on the other side of the building.
Anyway, the flipbook above will show you some stuff that we have going on. There’ll be more flipbooks popping up through out the week and you can use the two arrows next in the large dice (upper left) to cycle through all of them.
Ryan Fudger and Paul Alessio let me tag along on a pool riding expedition last week. We rode a handful of pools that day, which is a very rare thing since they’re usually pretty hard to come by. Anyway, Fudger wrote up a little blog post about it on the Ride site. Read about how that day came to be.
After I knocked my teeth out, I went to the bathroom to rinse out my mouth and wash my face. As I was doing so, the man behind S&M Bikes walked in and started taking a piss in the urinal. I remember talking with him but I don’t remember what was said. I was still seeing stars and had a bad case of tunnel vision. It wasn’t until we were exiting the bathroom did I realize that I was talking with the infamous Chris Moeller. This is the guy who never really gave a fuck about what the tight asses in BMX thought. He always did things his own way, pulling practical jokes, parody ads, getting angry letters and occasional cease and desist orders… all while running one of the most successful core companies in BMX. From what I’ve read and seen in the magazines, the guy’s a bit of a bad ass.
I remember trying to shake the man’s hand but am unsure if it was a successful attempt… which in retrospect may not be a bad thing, especially considering that moments prior, I had my bloody teeth in my hand and he had his dick in his.
I was stoked to have met him but hopefully next time it’ll be under different circumstances.
I get questions every now and then asking me about these film scans. They’re scratched, gritty, have light leaks and sometimes look like they have some kind of chemical residue on them (there’s a proper term for it but I’m too lazy to Google at the moment). Anyway, they’re purposely set up to accidentally turn out like this.
I’m still secretly hurt by you not choosing me to be one of the groom dudes at your wedding. Here are a few pictures though. Feel free to use them on your myspace.
